Domestic investments have overtaken foreign investments in the Indian real estate market, signaling a shift in the balance between domestic and international capital. According to the data, institutional investments in the Indian real estate market amounted to $8.47 billion in 2025, up 29% from 2024. Domestic investment more than doubled, from $2.24 billion to $4.82 billion, while foreign inflows slipped 16%, from $4.32 billion to approximately $3.65 billion. Such a significant influx of capital into the real estate market can be explained by the fact that local investors are willing to take a long-term view of the market.
